Structure and Matches
- Weekly Matches: Regular season matches are held on Saturdays, featuring 3 to 4 teams at a single site. The format is akin to a “structured scrimmage,” ensuring nearly every wrestler gets a chance to compete.

Northern New Jersey counties of Bergen, Hudson, Passaic and Morris
Rec Matches
Is open (not required) to all wrestlers registered for the RJW 2023-2024 season. Matches are held on Saturdays and may be up to 2-3 hours depending on when a wrestler has their match(s). RJW’s coaches work with coaches from neighboring towns to match your wrestler up by age, weight, and experience. We aim for good competition for both wrestlers.
Dual Team
RJW’s Dual Team competes in the Twin County Wrestling League in which RJW wrestles against neighboring towns in a
head-to-head team competition. The matches are typically during the week in the evening in which the RJW coaching
staff will select one wrestler to represent RJW for each of the following weights:
55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 106, 112, 120, 128, 136, 150, Hwt
Dual Team Eligibility
- Intermediate & Advanced Wrestlers only.
- Required to be at or below the weight they are going to wrestle at; weigh ins will be required before eachmatch.
- Must attend at minimum 1 RJW practice a week to be eligible to wrestle. If you do not attend practice during the week, you will not be eligible to wrestle until you meet the requirement.
Wrestle-Offs for Dual Team
If there is more than one wrestler at a weight class that meets the all of the eligibility criteria, a wrestler may request or the coaches may ask that two wrestlers Wrestle Off to determine who will represent RJW at a weight for an upcoming dual match. The Wrestle Off will take place before practice with 3 one-minute periods to determine the winner. Wrestle Offs can occur each week, but the coaches must be given advanced notice so we may plan according.
Any questions please feel free to discuss with the coaching staff.
